“Stranger Things” has made its young cast of Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Gaten Matarazzo and Caleb McLaughlin megastars from the very first season of the show. There have been four seasons of the popular Netflix show, each sharing the terrifying journey a group of friends go to in order to save their hometown of Hawkins from deadly threats.
The science fiction and drama show is written by, the Duffer Brothers which consists of Matt and Ross Duffer. The show features very heavy influence from the 80’s which is when the show is set. It also pulls influence from the game Dungeons & Dragons with it’s scary characters, super natural elements and mystical story lines.
The first season of the show was released in 2016 and contained eight episodes. The initial season of the show starred a group of friends, Finn Wolfhard as Mike, Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas and Gaten Mararazzo as Dustin who meet Eleven, played by Millie Bobby Brown, who has supernatural powers. Eleven helps the crew find their friend Will (Noah Schnapp) who has mysteriously gone missing.
Another layer of “Stranger Things” is the older characters like Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, David Harbour and Winona Ryder who play Nancy, Jonathan, Steve, Jim and Joyce who all play a huge roles in the show.
As the seasons went on, a lot of new characters were slowly introduced that have become main characters and characters that the “Stranger Things” fan base adore. These characters include Sadie Sink who plays Max, Maya Hawke who plays Robin, Joseph Quinn who plays Eddie, Priah Ferguson who plays Erica, Eduardo Franco who play Argyle, Jamie Campbell Bower who plays one of the shows biggest villains Vecna (also known as One and Henry Creel) and Brett Gelman who plays Murray.
Following the first season of the show, a second season was put out in October 2017 and a third in July 2019. "Stranger Things" season four was split into two volumes. Volume one had seven episodes that were released on May 27, 2022 and volume 2 consisted of two feature length episodes that came out on July 1, 2022. The first part of volume two was an hour and 27 minutes long and the second part was two hours and 22 minutes long. The Duffer Brothers have announced that there will be one more season of the show, but that will be the end of the series.
“Stranger Things” has become Netflix’s most-watched English language television show on the platform and has been nominated for and won many prestigious awards. Fans of the show continue to show their love for “Stranger Things” on social media and have taken interest in coming up with predictions and theories for what’s to come. There is no release date yet for the fifth and final season of the show, but it is in the works.
