Mother arrested as Mass. police search for missing child

A Massachusetts mother and her boyfriend are in custody after her child was reported missing, authorities said.

Jeremiah Oliver, 5, of Fitchburg, was last seen by relatives in mid-September, MyFoxBoston.com reported. The Worcester County District Attorney’s office said it became aware of Jeremiah’s case when his 7-year-old sister told a teacher she hadn’t seen her brother in months.

His mother, Elsa Oliver, 28, was charged with two counts of reckless endangerment of a child and two counts of accessory after the fact, the district attorney’s office said.

Her boyfriend, Alberto Sierra, 22, was charged with two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (a knife) in connection to an incident with Oliver, the website reported. He also faced two counts of assault and battery on a child causing bodily injury related to an incident with Jeremiah and his sister.

Jeremiah is described as 40 inches tall, weighing 40 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to contact authorities at 508-832-9124 or 978-345-9648.
