2024 Heisman Trophy odds: Cam Ward new favorite; Arch Manning makes huge jump

Week 3 of the 2024 college football season is in the books, and the Heisman odds are on the move.

The new favorite is Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward, who finished with 346 passing yards and five touchdown passes in a 62-0 thrashing of Ball State. Ward's odds moved to +550 from +950 over the past week.

But another name has surged up the board, and that player is not even a starter at his position.

Let's dive into the latest odds at DraftKings Sportsbook as of Sept. 16.

Brady Cook, Missouri: +6500 (bet $10 to win $660 total)

After Longhorns' starting quarterback Quinn Ewers sustained an injury in the second quarter against UTSA, backup QB Arch Manning stepped in for Quinn.

Manning, the No. 1 recruit in the Class of 2023, finished with 223 passing yards, four touchdown passes and 53 rushing yards, to go along with a rushing score. Texas won 56-7.

Manning was +15000 to win the Heisman heading into last weekend, but his odds got as short as +1600 after his electric performance.

He's now moved back down to +2000, and Ewers — who was off the board after exiting the game — is back on the board, also at +2000.

Second on the board behind Ward is Dart at +700. The Ole Miss quarterback's odds shortened from +800. Against Wake Forest, he totaled 377 passing yards with two scores in the air and one on the ground.

Rounding out the top three is Milroe, also at +700.

Against Wisconsin, he had three passing touchdowns along with two on the ground, becoming the second quarterback since 2000 to record multiple passing and rushing touchdowns in each of the first three games of the season.
