On Sunday's #Mediabuzz 11 ET:
Robby Soave said, “Democratic media is having a field day” with the story about Atlantic Editor Jeffrey Goldberg’s inclusion in a Signal group chat of top government officials about an impending attack on the Houthis “because they need something to talk about,” adding that it is “ridiculous” to cover it as “the biggest security crisis of our lifetimes.” He also said that he doesn’t find it “plausible” that the contents of the Signal chat were not classified, as several in the Trump administration have argued, but “the mission was a success,” and that there is “media fearmongering” that the Trump administration is gearing up for “an invasion or conquest” of Greenland.
Meghan Hays, a former Biden White House aide, said of top government officials sharing information about a Houthi attack in a group chat including a journalist, “If I would have done this, I would have been fired,” and that the administration “gives [the story] legs” by not saying “we made a mistake here … and move on.” She also said that JD Vance visiting Greenland uninvited is “not appropriate” and goes against “diplomacy 101 … you don’t go to another country and continue to insult them over and over again,” as both the president and vice president press for more American influence in the Danish-owned territory.
Susan Ferrechio said of public broadcasters NPR and PBS, whose CEOs faced questions in a House hearing chaired by Marjorie Taylor Greene focused on Trump’s desire to end their federal funding, “… they have changed their reporting and have become less balanced and more attuned to the liberal agenda.” She also said that Democrats make it look like Elon Musk’s DOGE government cuts are “the most damaging thing that ever happened to the federal government” and that Musk also “played a role” in setting that imagery, “standing there with a chainsaw …”
Olivia Beavers said that stations in smaller markets “would struggle if they didn’t have the government funding,” as President Trump has made clear he wants to end all federal funding for NPR and PBS. She also said that Elon Musk’s Bret Baier interview that included several members of the DOGE team was a “charm offensive where they were trying to say, look, we’re doing all these good things …” and that the arrest of a pro-Palestinian Tufts University graduate student was part of the Trump administration’s “Cold War foreign policy” where they “expel people that they say are pro-Hamas.”
