A former active duty Army officer and Iraq War veteran, Raphael S. Cohen is a political scientist at the nonprofit, nonpartisan RAND Corporation and an adjunct professor of Security Studies at Georgetown University. He is the lead author of "From Cast Lead to Protective Edge: Lessons from Israel’s Wars in Gaza" and has elsewhere written about the use of walls in counterinsurgency.
