According to the New York Post’s Page Six, Rosario Dawson reportedly adopted a 12-year-old girl two months ago.

Looks like actress/political activist/singer Rosario Dawson has a new title: mom.

According to the New York Post’s Page Six, the 35-year-old actress reportedly adopted a 12-year-old girl two months ago.

While details are scarce, Dawson (who is adopted herself) has been vocal in the past about wanting to adopt.

“That idea has stayed in the back of my head, but lately, I’ve been thinking about it more,” she told Latina magazine in 2008. “My mother and grandmother are extraordinary women, and they’re getting older. It struck me recently that one day I might be sitting around with my children, going, ‘Your grandma was an amazing woman; I really wish you could’ve known her.’… Whatever time I have, I want it.”

Dawson’s rep did not respond to a Fox News Latino request seeking comment.

Dawson is appearing in the upcoming Chris Rock-directed “Top Five.” She told the New York Daily News that while her role as a reporter in the film was one of the best written parts she’s been offered in her 20-year-career, she had plenty of doubts accepting it.

“It was very hard because I couldn’t understand it from the very beginning,” Dawson said. “But then you have (actor) Anders Holm there... and he’s so great and so willing. He was talking to his wife, who’s about to have their baby, on the phone, and then, Chris (Rock) calls action and that’s what we fall full-force into. And you’re like, ‘Wow, dude, if you have no qualms, I have no qualms.’”

She said she had been feeling burnt out after her grandmother died and didn’t want to take just any project that came her way.

“I was nervous,” she said, “about jumping on to something that was so out of my comfort zone in so many ways.”
