Prince Harry has been secretly dating an American actress — whisking her away on discreet dinners and private outings across the pond, including a royal rendezvous with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, according to a report.
“He’s happier than he’s been for many years,” a source told the Daily Express of the ongoing fling between the prince and 35-year-old “Suits” star Meghan Markle.
“They are taking each week as it comes and just enjoying each other’s company but it’s fair to say that they love seeing each other and there’s a definite chemistry between them,” the source added.
The pair reportedly met in Toronto this past May, while Harry was promoting next year’s Invictus Games for disabled service men and women. Markle had been in Canada filming her popular USA TV series, in which she plays sultry paralegal Rachel Zane.
While sources say the budding romance is still in its early stages, the Express insider notes how both Prince Harry and Markle are hoping for the best.
“At the moment they are just taking it a step at a time and seeing how things develop,” the source said. “[Harry’s] in a very relaxed period of his life and Meghan has come along at the right time.”
Markle, who separated from film producer Trevor Engelson after just 2 years of marriage together, is an avid fan of social media — where she posts images related to the humanitarian work she does as a global ambassador for World Vision Canada.
The role has brought her to parts of Rwanda and Afghanistan, where she supported US forces.
“Harry loves to hear about Meghan’s humanitarian work,” the source said. “She is sassy, smart and vivacious and he just adores her love of life.”
Sources told the Express that Markle has made several stops to London to dine with Harry and meet his friends. She’s even gotten cozy with him at Kensington Palace and spent time with his brother and sister-in-law.
“William and Kate really liked her and she fitted in straight away,” the source said. “Meghan is a very confident and intelligent woman and she’s not overawed mixing with royalty. That’s one of the things Harry admires about her.”
Markle got her start on the daytime soap “General Hospital” before scoring her role on “Suits” in 2011.
Born to an African-American woman and a white man of Dutch and Irish descent, Markle has also served as an ambassador for the bi-racial community.
“My mom is a yoga instructor, 100 percent Black with dreadlocks,” Markle said in an interview with Ebony mag earlier this year. “And when people find out ‘that girl’ on ‘Suits’ is her daughter, there is often this disconnect and sometimes disbelief.”
