Sophie Perry has found a special way to immortalize her late father, Luke Perry, nearly two months after his death.
The 18-year-old shared on Instagram Monday that she raised enough funds to create a new school in Malawi, which she named after the “90210” and “Riverdale” star.
“Thank you to everybody who donated to help with our projects!” she wrote. “Our first school is finished and I can’t tell you how proud and excited I am to see it open on Wednesday. Thank you to my amazing partner Ruben for everything. Especially for fighting to name the school after my dad.”

Sophie was in Malawi when she learned that her father had suffered a massive stroke.
“A lot has happened in this past week for me,” she shared on Instagram on March 5, adding that she left the African country to be by her family’s side. “Everything is happening so fast.”
Luke died surrounded by Sophie, his son Jack, fiancé Wendy Madison Bauer, ex-wife Minnie Sharp, mother Ann Bennett, stepfather Steve Bennett, brother Tom Perry, sister Amy Coder, and other close family and friends, his rep told Page Six.

One month later, Sophie shared on Instagram that she struggled with the idea of asking people for donations to build a school while she was still grieving the loss of her dad “given the circumstances” of how she got a larger online following.
However, with the help of some friends, Sophie said she changed her mind and realized “what I am doing is bigger than me and my pride.”
