Idris Elba may want to be the next James Bond, but he still has the utmost respect for the franchise's current star, Daniel Craig.

The Sexiest Man Alive posed with the current 007 at the 2019 Golden Globes on Sunday, captioning the snap "awks."

Buzz about Elba, who stars as  an agent in the BBC's "Luther," eventually becoming the next James Bond grew from a loud whisper to a dull roar in February 2016.

Elba himself admitted the hype was global, saying a year earlier, “If human beings want to know if there’s any connectivity between all of us, the one thing I’ve heard around the world universally is that, ‘You’ll be great at James Bond!’”

However, in August 2018 Elba flatly denied that he'd star in "Bond 25," which will feature Craig — who previously griped that he didn't want to play the iconic MI6 agent anymore.

“Now? I’d rather break this glass and slash my wrists,” Craig said in 2015 of starring in a fifth Bond film. “No, not at the moment. Not at all. That’s fine. I’m over it at the moment. We’re done. All I want to do is move on.”

Craig changed his tune, however, by 2017, when he told press of the 25th Bond flick, “I think this is it. I just want to go out on a high note. I can’t wait.”
