Long before the Kardashians, there was MTV’s “The Hills,” which starred, among others, Whitney Port.
“I knew that the show wasn’t going to last forever," Port told FOX411. “So, I knew I had to keep a plan in my head of what I was going to do after this."
Now Port is a fashion designer with her own line, Whitney Eve, and she’s partnering with Palm Breeze alcoholic spritzer. The newlywed said she has managed to avoid the pitfalls of putting her personal life on television, unlike former co-star Heidi Montag, who underwent several well-documented, painful cosmetic surgeries.

“It makes me feel a little sad but at the same time I think everyone has chosen their path, and I also think that there are a lot of positives that have come out of everything for them” Port, said, noting Montag and husband Spencer Pratt are still married. “They’re still together so I try to look at the positives that have come out of it.”
Port, 31, also said she understands why young stars like Taylor Swift like to hang out in huge posses.
“When you’re younger it’s all about your squad and everyone wants to belong somewhere," Port said "But as you get older and older you start to realize you have certain friends for certain reasons, and not everybody has to be part of a big squad."
