Nicole Kidman says Rami Malek's awkward Golden Globes moment 'mortified' her

Rami Malek wasn't the only one embarrassed when Nicole Kidman swerved his attempts to chat onstage at the 2019 Golden Globes.

Nicole Kidman is revealing how her husband, Keith Urban, responded when he saw her disheveled character in her latest big screen film, “Destroyer.”

“I think he was shocked,” Kidman told Entertainment Tonight on Sunday.

“Audiences as well, which is fantastic. I mean, obviously, that’s something that we were hoping we would create, a different person, and that’s what I’m always looking to do, is to become a different person.”

The 51-year-old actress also praised the country crooner for his ability to understand how seriously she takes her craft and fully supporting her through all of her commitments.

“I think I’m just very lucky to have a husband that just gets it,” she said. “He’s a musician. He’s very, very artistic. He understands what it is being married to an actor. We’ve been married now for 12 years, so we’ve been through a lot together.”

In the action-filled drama, Kidman portrays Erin Bell, a Los Angeles detective who violently takes down members of a vicious gang whom she has a deep history with. The role earned Kidman a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress.

In December, Kidman spoke to ET about her fierce role in the violent flick, which included an intense makeup test at her home — something she said was a huge adjustment for her.

"When it becomes in your home and you're just kind of there, it's very gritty," Kidman said at the time. "What happens is it becomes authentic, so then it just becomes, like, ‘Oh, this is very real to me. I'm in this skin. I'm in this person. I'm not standing on the outside trying to make this happen.’”
