Christy Turlington walks the runway for first time in nearly 30 years

Supermodel Christy Turlington walked the Marc Jacobs New York Fashion Week show on Wednesday — her first time on a catwalk in almost 30 years.

Turlington, 50, closed out the show in a black feather gown, matching fascinator and black patent boots.

It was her first runway since 1989, Women's Wear Daily reports, and the first time she modeled since she quit the industry as a whole in 1994 — when she was just 25 years old.

Turlington explained of her exit from modeling in 2012, “I thought, you know what? I’d rather end it when I want to end it, rather than somebody else doing it for me. I never really thought it was going to last that long anyway."

In 2017, Turlington said that the modeling industry was a dark place.

"The industry is surrounded by predators who thrive on the constant rejection and loneliness so many of us have experienced at some point in our careers," she told Women's Wear Daily. "I feel fortunate that I did not personally experience anything traumatic, but also know that is not the norm."
