Alec Baldwin’s wife Hilaria describes difficulty telling their kids about ‘Rust’ shooting incident
Hilaria Baldwin has been sharing support for her husband ahead of his upcoming tell-all interview
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Hilaria Baldwin revealed that she's had discussions with their kids about husband Alec Baldwin's fatal accident on the set of the movie "Rust."
Baldwin was holding a firearm to rehearse a scene for the indie-western when the gun somehow discharged and fired a live round that was not supposed to be on the set. The incident left cinematographer Halyna Hutchins dead and wounded director Joel Souza.
On Tuesday, Hilaria, who shares six kids with the actor, took to her Instagram Story to explain to her followers that she's been having difficulty explaining the situation to their older children.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}"I’ve had to have some conversations, explaining recent events to my oldest children recently," she said (via Page Six). "You can imagine how heart-wrenching it has been."

She added: "Sometimes, I just freeze, knowing I’m the adult who must guide my family, but so lost as to what the right direction is. There is no manual we are provided."

"Sometimes I catch myself, surprised that I’m in the adult position, and I’m like, ‘Shouldn’t I know what to do?’ You have no idea how much all of your kindness, love and support mean. Yes, you who are reading this. I know how lucky I am to have you," she concluded.
Hilaria, 37, has been paying that support forward to Baldwin in the weeks since the "Rust" shooting.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}On Wednesday, she posted a photo, which appeared to be a mirror selfie, in which the married couple stood side-by-side as Hilaria snapped the pic.

"One foot in front of the other," she wrote. The star added a heart emoji.
The pic comes one day ahead of Baldwin's first formal interview and as the investigation into the shooting continues.

In a preview for the tell-all, which is heavily edited for the purpose of teasing the larger interview, an emotional Baldwin states that he did not pull the trigger.

He adds: "No, no, no, no, I would never point a gun at anyone and pull the trigger. Never."

{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}However, the Santa Fe Country Sheriff’s department said in a warrant that Baldwin "fired" the gun. Baldwin was holding the gun and rehearsing a scene for the movie when a live round rang out, hitting Hutchins before getting stuck in the shoulder of director Joel Souza.

In the heavily edited preview clip, Baldwin does not seem to deny that he was holding the gun at the time, with the distinction seemingly being that he did not pull the trigger.
