The new Nintendo Switch – the Nintendo Switch 2 – was set to drop on June 5, with pre-orders starting April 9 in the U.S. Nintendo just announced that the pre-order date will be delayed indefinitely due to new tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump. As of now, the launch will still happen on June 5.
The console will eventually be available from a wide variety of retailers, including Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop and Walmart, among others.
The starting price of the new Nintendo Switch will be $450 when it gets released in the U.S., but may go up now that the company is dealing with 46% tariffs in Vietnam, where most of the parts are produced. The price may go up by a whopping 50% due to these tariffs.
