Chat GPT is one of the leading products for the Silicon Valley-based artificial intelligence developer OpenAI. The program stands for Chat Generative Pre-Traind Transformer, and its essential purpose is to act as a real-time chatbot for users. ChatGPT was created using Open AI's GPT-3.5 and GPT-5 models and is supported with a complex dataset that allows the bot to generate individual written responses. The product was launched to the public as a prototype in November 2022. Its online popularity grew, and the responses from the bot quickly went viral across social media.
As a result, Microsoft announced a few months later that it would invest $10 billion into OpenAI to help develop future programs that utilize artificial intelligence. Moreover, the company's valuation surged to nearly $30 billion. The program provides well-written and detailed responses based on small unique keywords from users. However, the factual accuracy of the responses is not as strong due to the limitation of the database and other biases.
Regardless, in its current form, Chat GPT was relaunched in March 2023 for only paid subscribers on a limited basis.
