General Motors has confirmed plans to introduce an electric pickup in the coming years, but isn’t ready to divulge all of the details just yet.

By the time it goes on sale, the truck will likely have to compete with the previously announced electric Ford F-150 and a Tesla pickup. Ram has yet to reveal any firm intentions to build an all-electric model, while Ford-backed Rivian is scheduled to have a battery-powered midsize truck in production by the end of 2020.
THE RIVIAN R1T IS THE ELECTRIC PICKUP OF THE NEAR FUTURE:
GM has already built one electric pickup, although it used a hydrogen fuel cell to generate electricity rather than a large battery pack. The Colorado ZH2 was designed with military applications in mind and has been tested by the U.S. Army, but nothing like it has yet entered production. A Silverado Heavy Duty based version with a high-performance off-road suspension has also been proposed.
